Psoriasis: We Can’t Change Genetics, But We Can Eliminate Stress
Presently genetic psoriasis theory is one of the most reliable psoriasis theories.
But genetic predisposition alone is not enough for the development of psoriasis. There has to be some kind of a trigger to start the mechanisms of psoriasis.
Let’s discuss what stress is, and what stress may cause in the genetically predisposed to psoriasis people.
Stress is usually a strong negative (rarely – positive) mental or physical experience, which causes various negative chemical reactions in our body.
These chemical reactions are capable of deteriorating the internal organs of our body, and causing various physical disorders as well as various disorders of the nervous system. Most of these disorders would never have surfaced, had they not been triggered by stress.
In the same way stress may eventually also trigger the pathological mechanisms of psoriasis disease.
Various studies have shown that stress is one of the most often psoriasis triggers in the genetically predisposed to psoriasis people — about 50% of the cases. Stress is also a major factor for the flare up of psoriasis — about 40% of the cases.
Therefore, it would be a prudent thing to do to try to avoid getting stressed, or to learn to relieve your everyday stress.
Mental stress may be often caused by losing your loved ones, losing your job, getting divorced etc…
Physical stress may be often caused by freezing, getting into a car accident, undergoing a major surgery etc…
Stress may also be caused by a positive experience, such as getting married or giving birth to a child.
In order to try to prevent psoriasis in the predisposed to psoriasis adults and children, or to better manage the existing psoriasis, I would advise you to screen your life or your child’s life for any possible causes of stress.
It is easier for an adult to find the possible causes of stress but it may be harder to do that for a child.
Here is the list of things you may want to look for in your child’s life:
-Skipping meals;
-Dressing improperly;
-Having a conflict at school or in preschool;
-Insufficient sleep or not enough rest;
-Uncomfortable clothes or footwear.
By trying to eliminate stress, we may as well succeed in preventing psoriasis or improving the developed psoriasis. It is definitely worth a try.
Here are the most often symptoms of stress, both in the adults and in children:
-Feeling down;
-Headaches;
-Fast heartbeat;
-Nervousness;
-Insomnia.
Thus, if you find anything that may be stressing you (or your child) you should try to eliminate it, especially if this turns out to have been a prolonged stress.
There are various relaxation techniques, which may help you in your stress management.

Stress, More or Less? You Can Choose What to Do
Stress is something that affects each person in a different way. Lots of people often think that stress is something that no one can do anything about. In fact, lots of people often succumb to stress because they believe that they can’t change it. However, that is not the case. It is up to you to figure out how stress is going to affect you.
When you are dealing with stress, you are going to be the one who is charge of how it affects you. Whether you are going to have lots of stress, or little stress, you need to be sure that you understand what is going on with it, so that you can decide how much you are going to let it affect you.
The first thing that you need to do when you start to be able to decide how stress is going to affect you is realize that the more you let stress effect you, the more that it will. This sounds like something simple, but stress is an odd thing. It is a physical and mental reaction to certain situations, and it is a reaction that your body and mind might make whether you want to or not. The key to your reactions is going to be your mental state, and the ability to control these stress symptoms.
The first thing that you need to do when you are learning how to cope with stress is learn how to relax. Learning how to relax is something that most people need to be able to do, because it allows them to deal with stress in a way that they never knew or understood before. Relaxing is actually one of the best keys to being able to control stress. There are several types of relaxation exercises that you should be doing, and it is up to you whether or not you use them. However, if you are able to use them, you will be able to control your stress.
There are two types of relaxation that you can do in order to control your stress, and have less of it. The first should be a very short relaxation technique that you can do in order to calm yourself down as you start to feel stressed out. The second is a longer relaxation technique that you should be doing in the evenings or every few days, in order to keep yourself less stressed.
The next thing that you want to do is remember that there are several other things that you can do to make sure that you have less stress. First of all, you should try to be as organized as possible. Being organized is a way that you can make sure you have less stress. If you aren’t organized, you might find that you have more stress because lack of organization leads to more situations in your life that are stressful. Also, if you have too much to you will find that you have more stress, so if you can cut back on some of the things that you are doing, you will find that you experience less stress in your life.

what can i do about my stress symptoms?
i didnt even realise i was stressed! its around assignmet/exam time ..i been stayn up and doing way more work than usual..but i thought it was all under control. i neva once thought that im gona fail or not get it done on time..i was well on track. but than i got all these symptoms such as chest pains and other pains in diffrent parts of my body, sometimes felt a bit dizzy and its a lil bit harder to breathe. i’ve had these symptoms for under a week..they seem to dissapear when im out and not think about it but when im at home they come back although they are not as bad as the first night i experienced them. i saw a doctor n he ran tests and said everything was functioning normally. so im guessing this might be stress right? how do i make those symptoms totally dissapear?
This is something that might help. You say it is around exam time, so I guess you are a student. I used this technique a counselor gave me, and it helped alot. Set a schedule up for yourself. Put each day of the week at the top, and the times in half hour increments down the side. Fill in all the things you HAVE to do: Go to class, go to work, etc. Next put in some time for things you LIKE to do (ie: attend meeting functions, socialization, swimming, running, walking, reading for fun, spending time with friends, etc) for at least 1 – 2 hours each day. There will be time left, so go ahead and fill your study times. Stick to the schedule, don’t let anything deter you from it, esp during exam times. And don’t forget to look up every once in a while and take a deep breath. Get 8 hours of sleep/night, and eat breakfast, it helps. I found that the schedule became part of a routine that I could handle. Hope you find the same. Good Luck!

What Is Post Traumatic Stress Disorder?
One thing that is coming up more than ever is the condition called Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Some were aware of it before this became the common name and remember it as shell shock. Post Traumatic Stress Disorder is a disorder suffered by rising numbers of people today.
It starts with events that are so traumatic for those suffering, that they can’t deal with it all at once, and shouldn’t be expected too. In wars, many soldiers experience horrors that were extremely beyond anything they could ever prepare for. This has been a strongly noticed issue on the rise since the many soldiers returned home from the Vietnam War.
It’s definitely not solely experienced by soldiers either, rather many have experienced post traumatic stress disorder from acts of violence around crime scenes, devastating losses, repeated abuses beyond imagination, and yet many more situations. The key factor often being the result is severely traumatizing to them.
The Many Symptoms of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
Whatever the cause, untreated, those with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder stand to deal with many side effects including sleep trouble, anxiety, depression, flashbacks, and even blackouts when these occur. While they came back, the issues of their trauma are still buried deep in their mind in full force. Often under lock and key to dwell on, or seemingly forget; though unlike other matters of life it’s far from forgotten. Hidden are vivid details and in this state it will simply show many other symptoms throughout everyday life.
One of the more extreme side effects of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder is another disorder called Multiple Personality Disorder (MPD), in which studies indicate all cases have PTSD as well. Split personalities seem to be one of the ways the human mind can deal with the trauma hidden back in.
How to Deal With Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
It’s very unlikely that any individual can deal entirely with their own Post Traumatic Stress Disorder; however they will indeed need to be the major player in it. Professional Counseling is a good start for those believing they have PTSD.
First will be the diagnosis which will determine if Post Traumatic Stress Disorder exists in their case. This can be tricky at times though the steps professionals use become more refined from experience and studies. With a positive diagnosis treatment can begin.
Treatment can be a mix of counseling, support group, and quite possibly treatment for a number of other conditions that may be found. These may include anxiety, depression, insomnia, and more. For the patient, it’s important to try to keep up with it all.
One thing that will definitely be necessary when treating Post Traumatic Stress Disorder is unraveling the layers of emotional feelings, fears and other things that may have long been hidden and attempted forgotten. Learning to deal with these feelings and fears is the most important thing. Being able to find someone they can open up to about them and get the word out of their head will indeed bring long-term progress
In The End
Hopefully this article has informed you of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. If you believe you or someone you know has this disorder, it would be very wise to find out. Hopefully not, though those that do, need help to get past their trauma. Once past it there is a lot of hope for a better life.

So, You Have An Irritable Bowel, Treat Or Relieve Symptoms With These Methods.
The cause of IBS is still not fully understood, and it is not easy to diagnose. So, if you have an irritable bowel, treat it by initially gaining a full understanding of how the symptoms specifically effect you. This will help with any later diagnosis. Here are some things to consider about IBS.
One thing that is known is that about 80% of those who suffer from Irritable Bowel Syndrome also suffer from a general anxiety disorder (GAD) like stress, depression or anxiety. It is not known whether these issues cause Irritable Bowel Syndrome or this disorder causes these issues. Nevertheless, stress and other emotional issues can definitely make symptoms worse.
Unfortunately, the progression of Irritable Bowel Syndrome has not been fully studied. However, research does show that certain people are more prone to this disorder than others. Approximately 80% of the estimated 35 million Americans who have Irritable Bowel Syndrome are women. Often the hormonal changes in women can trigger the symptoms, but again this cannot explain the condition as it is shared with men.
One important way to identify food that may trigger an IBS episode is to keep a food and symptoms diary so that a doctor can see what is setting off your symptoms. When this is done, the majority of people with Irritable Bowel Syndrome have been able to identify what foods and conditions lead to their symptoms. Often, by avoiding these foods, these people can reduce their symptoms.
It is possible that Irritable Bowel Syndrome is related to food allergies. So, if you have been diagnosed with Irritable Bowel Syndrome and you have not been tested for food allergies, this is an area to explore with an allergy specialist. Your food diary will come in handy again here.
It is possible that Irritable Bowel Syndrome is caused by a lack of balance between the good and the bad bacteria in the Gastrointestinal (GI) Tract. For this reason, sometimes probiotics are recommended so that this balance can be improved. It is also possible that doctors may prescribe antibiotics in this case to change the make up of the GI flora.
Other research of this disorder has shown that the pain and contraction of stomach muscles may be relieved by antidepressants. Since it is not believed that depression is necessarily the cause of Irritable Bowel Syndrome, it needs to be understood that these antidepressants are not prescribed to relieve depression. Instead, they are prescribed to block the brain’s pain receptors and make the stomach muscles relax. It is also possible that antidepressants are prescribed to relieve anxiety that may accompany this disorder.

So if you have an irritable bowel treat it initially by understanding your symptoms and what triggers them for you. The majority of the people who have this disorder are able to live normal, healthy, pain-free lives, but they are the ones who have a good understanding of how the conditions effects them and made the appropriate lifestyle changes.
