I just lately obtained a Japanese branded truck. I like to go out camping as well as spending my long week-ends in the outdoors. A pickup is the answer to my adventurous needs. Power along with storage space are the main key points that I require in a car. It is a used pick up and it didn’t have a built-in GPS navigation system. So I had to obtain a transportable vehicle GPS navigation unit. My choice was a handheld GPS navigation system considering that I had a different car for the city.

With the numerous trips outdoors and lots of off-road driving, I wanted an effective GPS navigation system. I need a dynamic GPS navigation system which is based on advanced operating systems. I wanted one that was precise, accurate and on the dot.

I also needed built-in-maps since I drive on places I haven’t explored before. I made sure that the device is also equipped with an auto update feature. And I needed a device that can tell me where I am accurately. I needed my portable auto GPS to have built-in-maps because I am doing a lot of driving to places I have never been to and I have to go camping outdoors. So even when I am not driving, I need to bring my navigator when trekking or camping out.

Built in maps also allows me to find the best route from point a to point b. I can’t get lost with this feature. Contour maps also help me a lot when hiking and camping out. I want my device to look good because it doesn’t remain static in my car. I wanted a GUI that was user friendly. And just like any other hand held device, I wanted multi-media capability.

As far as processing powers go, the best auto GPS for me had a processor of not less than 2 GHz. And since I’m always outdoors, I need a shock proof device. I wanted a device that would work best for my driving as well as walking in the woods. The best auto GPS for me had this flexibility and ease of use.
